How to print or download your Udyam (MSME) certificate — step by step

The whole thing is done on the official government portal and takes two to three minutes. You do not need a password or a login — just your Udyam Registration Number (URN) and access to your registered mobile or email for the OTP.

Print or download — is there a difference?

Not really. The portal generates a single PDF of your certificate. Downloading saves that PDF to your device; printing sends it to a printer for a paper copy. Most people download it once, keep the PDF safe, and print a copy only when a bank, buyer, or tender asks for one. The digital PDF is a valid, digitally signed document on its own — you don’t always need a physical print.

What the certificate contains

OTP not arriving? Quick fixes

Its classification band (Micro, Small, or Medium) updates automatically once a year based on your ITR and GST data, but the certificate itself stays valid permanently — so the copy you download today remains good indefinitely.

• Print on A4 at 100% scale — avoid “fit to page”, which can shrink the QR code.
• A laser printer gives the sharpest result; inkjets can smudge the fine text and the QR code.
